Research/readings

Feedback opportunities (VLN)

This reading provides some ideas that children could think about when providing feedback to each other. Could use these ideas to co-construct a helpful list for students to use when providing peer feedback. Would need to ensure that students are aware that they choose 1 thing and do not need to comment on all of these things.
In this link there are also some blog links where we could buddy up with other schools. However, I think it would be more beneficial to complete this learning with students in our own learning environment. We could consider this when our students have their own blogs?

Doc features

A doc filled with useful add on apps that can be used to specifically to support writing.
An aspect I would like to explore further is Kaizena.

Real school example

This is a short article explaining how a teacher is implementing the use of google docs for feedback. Something that I took from this reading is how this method of feedback is useful to demonstrate how the students use/act on the feedback to improve their writing. I think it is really important that it has been mentioned that this feedback does not replace oral feedback. I think it is crucial that we do not lose conversations with children as they have proven to be very valuable.

  1. Great to see you are looking for examples in different places Kristen. I think Katie has some understanding of Kaizena.

  2. It is great to see that you have been doing some professional reading in relation to your inquiry Kristen. I will have to have a read myself!

It would be great if you could add some posts about the specific actions you have taken in Pot of Gold to help with your inquiry. For example, your writing process co-construction and writing matrix self-assessments.
